Everything you need to prepare and submit your manuscript to the International Journal of Medical Science and Health Innovation.
Preparing Your Manuscript
Authors must ensure that submissions adhere strictly to the guidelines below. Manuscripts that do not comply will be returned for revision before review. Please read all sections carefully.
Manuscript Categories
Original Research Article: Full-length reports of original research (max 4000 words, 40 references, 6 figures/tables).
Review Article: Comprehensive, critical reviews (max 5000 words, 80 references).
Case Report: Interesting clinical cases (max 1500 words, 15 references, 4 figures).
Short Communication: Brief, urgent findings (max 2000 words, 20 references).
Letter to the Editor: Comments on published articles (max 800 words, 5 references).
Manuscript Structure
Title Page: Title, running head, author names/affiliations, corresponding author (email, ORCID), word count, number of figures/tables, conflict of interest statement, funding sources.
Abstract: Structured abstract (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) with 250‑300 words. Add 4‑6 keywords.
Main Text: Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. Acknowledgments before references.
References: APA style. List all authors; cite consecutively in text as et al, or [1], [2 4].
Figures & Tables: Submit as separate files (JPEG/PNG/TIFF, min 300 dpi). Tables editable, not images.
Formatting Guidelines
File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or LaTeX (PDF + source).
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double‑spaced.
Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
Page numbers: Consecutive, bottom center.
Language: British or American English (consistent throughout).
Abbreviations: Define at first use; avoid in abstract.
Pre‑Submission Checklist
- Cover letter explaining the significance of the work.
- Title page with all required information.
- Manuscript file anonymized for double‑blind review (remove author details from main text).
- Figures and tables uploaded separately.
- Ethical approval statement (if applicable).
- Conflict of interest disclosure and funding acknowledgment.
Ethical Guidelines
IJMSHI follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. All research involving humans or animals must have appropriate ethics committee approval. Informed consent is required for case reports. Plagiarism is strictly checked using iThenticate/Turnitin; manuscripts with more than 10% similarity (excluding references) will be rejected.
